Does anyone have an idea of what this noise if from.  It occurs on all the HF bands.  It repeats about every 5 minutes or so.  I have verified it is not coming from my house.  This is a recording on 160 meters AM mode. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/35759292/noise2.wav  Thanks -Joe n3Hee

I'm being told it might be a  Ionospheric Sounder?  Some research I did agrees with the sounds I hear.

Sounds like a cell phone tracking with a local tower. If my phone is near my radio or radio alarm clock. it makes noise similar to this.
