Hi all,

My wife is getting me an Alinco DX-SR8 transceiver, along with a regal mic from Ten-Tec. the radio manual says it is a dynamic mic, which Ten Tec said the regal is, but Ten Tec said they were not familiar with the wiring of the radio mic. Does anyone know what radio (kenwood, Icom, or Yaseau) that would be compatible wiring. I would rather Ten tec wire the mic or supply a patch cable as I am sure the quality of their soldering is superior to mine.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Have you tried calling Alinco about this?
I seem to recall that *most* Alinco HF rig
8 pin round mic pinouts are compatible
with one of the "Big Three" (Yaesu, Icom, Kenwood)
but I can't remember which one. Sri about that.
GL with your new rig and mic.

Nice Christmas gift.
Btter get HER something nice too, OM!  Grin

Compatible with Kenwood.

There's seems to be some connection between Alinco and Kenwood that I can't put my finger on....

Well I no longer have a problem with wiring the microphone. My wife bought me a Ten Tec Argonaut when we visited Ten Tec today.
