Anyone plan to play this year?. Tuesday night, Dec 31,2013 Straight Key Night. ARRL event: This 24-hour event is not a contest; rather it is a day dedicated to celebrating our CW heritage. Participants are encouraged to get on the air and simply make enjoyable, conversational CW QSOs. The use of straight keys or bugs to send CW is preferred. There are no points scored and all who participate are winners.

I'll be there, albeit later in the event. Have to work the first few hours.

Seems to be still a lot of interest in the event by many in the phone ranks.I do CW daily so it's no big deal for me I guess. Cheesy

I have been active with my straight key and HW-16 for several nights this past week on 80M.

My preferred straight key of late is my "Chinese Army Key" although I've also been using my old J-38 (given to me by my elmer 35 years ago) and the Czech key.

Plan to put in many hours on local night of Dec 31 and some more time morning of Jan 1.

yep, I'll be in there. With one of my chirping homebrew transmitters, most likely.

I'll be there with my new(to me) ATS3-B and j-38.  Will be  putting out a twin-lead melting 3 watts.  72/73 and HNY, Terry k5teb.

Nobody answered my CQ on 7028, it is the only crystal I have. Boo Hoo. I'll try again this afternoon. If that fails I'll fire up the DX60, at least I have a VFO with that one.

Had contact with a local on 40m Wednesday afternoon. Turns out I used to work with him in the early 80's before I was licensed. The Viking II he was on is the one I gave him way back then that I had no use for...73
