Hello:
Does anyone know how to take a Hi Q 4-80 antenna apart? I have to get to the motor to replace power wires. The wires broke were they exit the base of the mast.
Any info would be great.

I would suggest emailing Charlie at HiQ. He can give you the
details on getting at the wiring. I have written him several times
about my 4/80 and he has been very helpful. ( I traded for mine
from another ham)

It is really not all that difficult. The bottom plug is held in by three 1/4x20 allen headed screws. The motor is mounted inside a plastic sleeve. The sleeve is held in by a allen headed screw with an acorn nut covering the head. However, if the wires are broken at the bottom plug (it is about 3 inches long), then just remove the bottom plug and splice in some new leads.
