i just bought an ft897 and i dont really want to spend the money on the yaesu battery packs, i already have a small battery that i could use but i need to find a way to connect it to the internal battery terminal without ruining the inside connector. Does anyone know what type of connector the batteries use and where i could get one. You can see the connector in this picture http://www.nevadaradio.co.uk/amateur-radio/transceiver-accessories/batteries/yaesu-fnb-78

thanks

If you get stumped trying to find the internal connector, you could just make/buy an adapter for the power connector on the back. Something on this page: http://www.powerwerx.com/adapter-cables/ might give you what you need.

the power connector on the back is 15 bucks thats why too buy for what should only cost a few dollars. I think if found the internal bit it would be pennies and i could do that. I can't imagine its that hard but i guess it is.

I assume your looking for the wire connector in the back of the battery. It's hard to tell from the picture but it looks very similar to a Molex connector
