Looking for info on the original holder of W4MPT, a Mr. Arthur Brittingham.  Best I can find on the internet is he was born in

Portsmouth, VA on 4-14-1920, and passed 11-1-2002 in Merritt Island, FL, age 82.  I've sent a letter to last listed ULS address,

but don't have high hopes about hearing back.  According to HamCall, he held the call since at least 1954.  I'd like to take the

call as a vanity, and would like to know about the former holder.  He was a member of the US Coast Guard Radio Club,

Harris/Intersil ARC and the YL System (#15500).  IF anyone has a qsl card, that'd be really great!

This isn't any great information, but you might be interested in it.

I have no listing for W4MPT or Brittingham in the Fall 1947 - 4th Call Area.

In the Summer 1949 Callbook, I have:

W4MPT  Arthur W. Brittingham,  323 Sixth St., Atlanta, Ga.

In the Fall 1952 Callbook, I have:

W4MPT  Arthur W. Brittingham, 1299 Eastland Dr., Decatur, Ga.

In the Fall 1957 Callbook, I have:

W4MPT  Arthur W. Brittingham, 7118 Railey Circle, Jacksonville, Fla.

In the Fall 1964 Callbook, I have:

W4MPT  Arthur W. Brittingham, 142 N.E. First St, Satellite Beach, Fla.

In the Summer 1968 Callbook, I have:

W4MPT  A  Arthur W. Brittingham, RFD 3-Box 671-B, Merritt Island, FL

Good luck.

Any information is great!  Thanks for looking it up for me.

I have a couple friends that are long time members of some of the space coast clubs.
I will ask and see of anyone remembers him.
That call sounds vaguely familiar but there were a ton of W4 1x3 calls around back in those days.
The Harris club is still active as far as I know. You might want to shoot them an email.
