Hello.

Sooner or later you are going to find yourself working with, or as one, a volunteer.
By far, the most important volunteer is that person who does janitorial duties!
Some clubs expect way too much!
Remember that replacement volunteers for janitorial are very rare indeed!
The next level is grounds, mowing the lawn, etc, no, they are NOT the same.
All the other is MUCH easier.
But, the care and feeding of volunteers requires special attention.
Most volunteers do not need, and frequently do not want, pep talks.
Keep it short and to the point, remember, this is a volunteer.
Not exactly what you expected in the way of clean? get off your ass and clean it! than perhaps point this out.
Brought in treats or food for the gang, be sure to include your most important members.
And, horseplay, do NOT do it!
I was at club and the President punched me in the shoulder, I left and have not been back since.
Wendy Davis is running for Governor in Texas and said some obscene words to me at a function.
The press was there (Austin-American  Statesman) and they ran quotes.
I did indeed talk to this reporter.
She was very upset, and said she was "joking", I did not find it funny, esp since I had nothing to do with her campaign.
I was with some other people who were also campaigning.
And, that brings up the final point, do not volunteer someone else!
You are responsible for YOU.
But, with that said, taking care of the right people is not only the right thing to do, take care of them and they will take care of YOU!
Thank you.

A word for any levelmanager..

"take care of your people, and they will take care of  you."
""Don't take care of your  people, and they will 'take care of you'!!!"

also rule.    the first person that complains, volunteers.

Yes it was a branch of McDonnell-Douglas for hallucinogenic experiments at loud audio levels with its first office in San Francisco.

Yes, you're correct.  And later, It's my understanding, that four employees, Barbara Boxer, Dianne Feinstein, Maxine Waters and Nancy Pelosi were elected to Congress.

Re: K8AXW

Weren't they also the original four joint conspirators who later co founded and marketed their own style of rose colored glasses?

And later some of the original staff built a starship.
