Hello.  I have an Alpha Delta DX-LB Plus dipole antenna that I wish to hang on our trees (does the way I said that sound odd, or is just me?), probably in an inverted-vee arrangement.  An EZ-HANG is also on the way.  Can I use the slingshot to "launch" the antenna (without damaging it, as it is quite expnesive)?

Sorry about not posting a topic title!  Haven't posted in these forums in quite a while!

You should be launching some heavy-duty fishing line with your slingshot. Once you have the fishing line through the tree where you want it, tie the appropriate end to some parachute cord (pc). Pull the pc up into the tree using the fishing line as the draw string. Finally, attach the other end of the pc to the antenna. Continue pulling the fishing line and pc until you have the antenna where you want it. Tie off the pc, remove the fishing line, and you're done.

I always used a spinning rod and reel to drop a sinker through a tree exactly where I wanted it to go.  Then, I'd tie a heavy cord on to the line and pull it back up through the tree.  Then, tie the cord to the antenna insulator egg and pull the antenna up into the tree.
