Title: EchoLink broken under Android 4.0x (ICS) on ASUS TF-101 Transformer tablet
Post by: VK5CQ on March 09, 2012, 06:51:57 PM
So, before my tab offered to update itself to Android 4.0x (ICS), EchoLink seemed to work OK.

Now, using ICS, it dies when I attempt to Connect to a selected node, with this message:

"Unfortunately, EchoLink has stopped.
  Report   OK"

I've let it "Report" a few times, but too recently to expect a reply.

Does anyone know what's up... w/ EchoLink on this platform?

TIA

You have to ask Echolink developer to make it working with ICS.
Not working for me either.

Operating system upgrades can frequently break software even on PC's. In future I would stay away from upgrades until support for app(s) you use is confirmed. Andriod 4.x is still pretty new and will have issue with some older apps.

Same results here.  It used to work great with my old phone.  Got a new one with one with Android 4.02 (ICS) and echo link no longer works.  Sent the developer an email but got no response...move on... They may upgrade it or they may not...ICS is not yet the dominant version of Android.  When/if that happens lots of old apps will get "updated".

Echolink was just updated for android 4.0
It now works as it did before the android 4.0 update.
