Title: Using PG-5G cable with MB Pro running Vista under Bootcamp to program Kenwoord
Post by: KJ6ETL on September 13, 2012, 10:17:21 PM
I want to program my Kenwood TM-V71 using the MCP-2A software. Before I spend way to much money for a programming cable (failed to solder one myself) I would like to know if the PG-5G cable works with a MB Pro running Vista under bootcamp.

Electrically it is correct cable. If you do a search on E bay you will find a USB version of it. I have used a few of USB versions with other Kenwood radios and they work fine.

Thanks, I already had contacted the vendor and asked if it would work.
In case it doesn't I can return it :-)

Just received the USB PG-5G compatible cable from an Ebay vendor.
Installed the Driver on my Macbook Pro running Windows 7 under Bootcamp. Fired up the MCP-2A program and was able to read / write the date to my Kenwoord TM-V71A
