Would be an excellent project.
I like to collect historical commemorative certificates.
Hopefully you can do it.

The war began on 28 July 1914 and lasted until 11 November 1918, so there's some time to plan for many WWI special events

Thanks Curtis. I have visited the WWI museum at Kansas City a few times, I'm glad they (and the K.C. hams) are taking the lead on this.

I missed WW1USA today. I guess they really pulled the plug at 2200hrs UTC, because I was tuned up ready to make a call, they went silent. I saw them here on Eham's cluster.

Propagation is not favorable this weekend. What frequency on 40M will you be operating?
If you could extend operation out to 2400z, it might become better.

The hours are already set for 6-7 Sept 2014.  from 1500 utc 6 Sept to 2200 utc 7 Sept 2014

September 6-7 highlights the Battle of the Marne, often referred to as the “Miracle of the Marne.”  this is from the ww1usa.org site.

I haven't seen anything on the eHam.net DX Cluster yet.
What bands will you be operating this weekend?

The Christmas Truce of 1914; It was the most outstanding Christmas of the 20th century and so it is definitely worth being remembered.

WW1USA has selected several significant dates in 2015 when the station will be on the air. February 7-8 will commemorate the beginning of the War in the Air.
THIS WEEKEND is the event.
