Title: Tandy stores that still thrive
Post by: K0OD on June 25, 2014, 09:58:28 PM

Tandy Leather, along with Color Tile, were spun off from Tandy/Radio Shack about 30 years ago. Was dumbfounded to discover that the obscure hobby craft chain continues to thrive as Tandy Leather Factory Inc. It publicly trades on the NASDAQ at $9 a share while RSH is a tenth that price.

Incredibly, no-tech Tandy Leather Factory (revenue $79 million) has a market cap of about $92 million, exactly the same as that of the 4,000 store RadioShack (revenue $3 billion!).

That's a story right out of Warren Buffett's playbook.
