77  eHam Forums / Digital / What is the Ethernet port for? on: November 08, 2009, 01:55:41 PM
I have an Icom V8000, and was wondering if I could hook the computer straight to it for digital modes, like d-rats, and others. I'm just trying to put 2 and 2 together, and My computer has an ethernet port and so does my radio.

Need to know the laws regarding the amateur radio service over there. When it comes to technical stuff, I can't understand a thing! Imagine it in German, where I'm not that fluent yet. Can some one give me a major heads-up.

83  eHam Forums / Misc / KY Law regarding school on: August 13, 2007, 05:59:25 AM
OK, the school I used to go to allowed me to pack my radio as long as it didn't disturb class. (I keep it off anyway!); but this new school in KY is refusing to allow me to pack it saying it will be siezed if packed. From a legal stand point am I allowed to pack it and if so, what law says so?

87  eHam Forums / Misc / VX-5R Trouble on: May 08, 2007, 09:03:26 AM
I recently bought a earbud/mic combo for my VX-5R. As I insert the accessory the unit transmits until I insert it completely and then if that wasn't enough, the little orange light that allows you to see the screen in the dark comes on. Is this normal and if not will it mess w/ my radio?
