Hello, I'm fairly new to these forums. I've been lurking for a while, but rarely post.
Anyway, I was wondering if any of you guys knew of a cheap way to get involved in packet? I'm very low on cash, so any idea is appreciated. I've already looked around and found some adapters that utilize the USB port and sound card, but am wondering if there were any other alternatives?
Yeah, check out Ubuntu. It was, and is my first distro and I'm definitely not ever going back to windoze. The support is amazing, and free. If you have a slower computer, check out xubuntu.
Another interesting Distro is Damn Small Linux. It is only 50 MB but is still a complete OS. It runs from a cd, but you have the option to install it to HD, and still only use 50 MB.
Has anybody out there read QST this month? In it, it says that you can use a primestar dish for the amateur bands, but does not include directions, could anybody help me??? my e-mail is rosswardrup@hotmail.com
