....offically switch from T9 to E7 as their prefix???...I e-mailed the ARRL DXCC desk last week to inquire, but have yet to get a response...Anyone know??....
also...I heard a report yesterday on the BBCWS that Kosovo was denied independence from Serbia....At least that's what I thought I heard....I still have to do a search on that story, but I shall, as this could have an affect on the DXCC list.....Jeez, with all of these (pending) new entities, and prefix changes poping up (Bonaire, Curacao, Kosovo, St. Barts), I will be running out of paper printing up updated lists this new year!...YOY!!!!

Wow, I must have missed something in the bulletins over the last few weeks. Had no idea that St. Barthelemey (or however you spell it) was (going to be) a new DXCC country. And holy smokes, what a pileup on 40 m CW last night!!!! Kaos at it's best. Anyway, for those of you who were just as oblivious to this news as me, here's the official link of the announcement. http://www.arrl.org/news/stories/2007/12/19/100/?nc=1Vince P KA3NRX P.S. Anyone actually been to St. Barts? I hear its fabulous.

Not that it matters at this stage of the cycle, but many years ago when we had sunspots, I used to bang that baby on 29.660 all the time, with it's recognizable tones. It was great fun hearing all of the signals coming in from Europe on that thing! Now the last few repeater directories don't list it and web searches turned up empty, aside from a "Ham Radio in the Virgin Islands" site that provided a repeater frequency that I found out is also inactive. So I throw the question out. What happend to this machine? Was it a vicitm of Global Warming, er um uh, a Hurricane or something and the owner(s) just said forget about it?

Hi There! After using a G5RV for the last 18 years or so, and talking to many a ham, I have found out that dipole antennas are pretty much omni-directional. I am certain that you will radiate a little more stronger is some directions as opposed to others, but your success for the most part is because of the antenna itself and it's fairly equal radiation patterns. I would not sweat it. You are doing fine with what you have. I just wish these conditions would improve as it is getting mighty mighty old listening to silence.

You betcha!...I just found out, via their web site that they have several members of the team working on getting the QSL cards out....Now that is a well thought out expedition....I am trying to get my friend, N3AZH, (who has no qsl cards,) to send away for his 30 m qso because of this 2 month TAT...I told him, go get a post card, an SAE, and the $2.00 and send it all out....Definitly worth it!...

Bad News. The lastest query I did on the DX Cluster comes up with the following info from a Russian spotter: "E4BDC PIRATE FROM 270 DEGREES" Sorry to be the onus of disappointment, but I would seriously check into this if I were you.
