I with to filter out all spots that are not North American?...I ususllly ride the K3NC node (which I had filtered perfectly), but for some reason, K3NC has pulled it down.....This has forced me to switch to the N0VD-7 node (both of which are obtained via the DX-Central web site).....I have tried using several filter commands to do this, but I still keep getting spots from parts of the world that I don't want....And also, when I type in sh/dx or sh/mydx, I still get a list of dx spots from other parts of the world as well....Is there a special filter command for this part too?......I am confused!....

Phil:

Ho man...that is too late for this working guy....But out of curiosity, what frequency were they on??...are we taking the usual DX window, or the new places for us SSB ops to roam???......

It could be tropo...Only for the fact that the temperatures have been unusually warm for this time of year in our part of the country (which I might add, suits me just fine!).....

Guys....SETTLE!....It's over...I got the information I was seeking.....Let's just put an end to this once and for all, and live happily ever after, ok?....Jeez!...Didn't think I was going to start an international incident, here!...Mercy.....
1282  eHam Forums / DXing / Check the date on your 4O3T card! on: December 26, 2006, 01:56:16 PM
You should send your card to the QSL manager as stated by the DX station.

Hey Phil!....Guess what???....The 403T card came today with my return stamped envelope sent to N7CQQ on 12/15/06 and stamped by him as well....A two week turn around.......And a wait since August that could have been avoided!......Funny how things seem to workout when they are done a certain way.....;-)...Oh and with regard to thread topic, the date on the card matched the QSO date as well, so no worries there either...Merry Christmas...

A note from Steve this past Tuesday via the DX-QSL Reflector:

[Dx-qsl] YX0/YX0LIX QSL CARDS update
Steven Wheatley KU9C ku9c at ku9c.com
Tue Dec 12 09:48:58 EST 2006
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The YX0A/YX0LIX cards have arrived, and I'm in the
process of preparing the first mailings. The process
will be a bit slower than I'd like, due to the
holidays and a few business and family commitments.
Please do not resubmit; I'll use the dx bulletins to
advise when I've finished mailing what I've got and
status updates along the way.

I do apologize for the delay in getting the cards out.

Now this is what I was looking for!....Great news!....Thanks K9NW!...........

And I don't know how fast the "Insty Prints" places are in Venezuela.

Maybe we ought to ask Hugo Chavez???....

As I recall, one of the principals on this particular DXpedition died, right? Who knows what complications could ensue from that.

Ouch!...That's right...I completely forgot about that....Wonder if that had some degree of impact on this situation.....As recall, as a result of that tragedy happening, they changed the call sign of the operation too.....The plot thickens....

Hi again Phil....

I am sure that nothing personal was intended, and I realize that stuff like this happens....It just seems kind of odd that an expedition with a very reliable stateside QSL mgr is taking such a long time to distribute things out..and from the info I have gathered, he appears to have his hands tied, albeit, my info is now 4 months old.....and again, my intent was to not pin blame on anyone.....Believe me, I am not looking to alienate my chances of getting a card or looking to put someone down.....and as far as patience goes, it seems that after such a long period of time, patience shrinks, and question marks arise.....Oh well....I guess I'll just have to keep checking the mail!....

Phil....

(and please, I am respectfully asking that I do not receive a response to this thread asking me to "show more patients"...I apologize if I come off that way, but, this is not a thread to bash or criticize anyone...This is a thread asking the status of QSLs after 9 months following this expedtiion...Thank you...).

I have to ask you, is there anyone one word, (that I think are all in the English language), of the above statement that you don't understand?....I thought I was quite clear and respectful with this request.....Apparently I was not....I am not looking to get into it with you or anyone regarding this..and I don't really need sarcastic tone either....I wrote this to check on the status....There is no info on their web site, 9 months have gone by, and the only other information I could find on the web was a site that had KU9C's comments from SEPTEMBER stating that he was waiting for the cards from the expedition's members....I fully understand the KU9C is a good person and has a life and is a good QSL mgr and all of that...I said this is NOT a slam fest post.....Now if you or anyone else can't understand the above request as written, let me know and I will write it in another tounge...And if you desire to respond, I suggest that a response containing other than what I am seeking not be stated....Again, I thank you.

VP

P.S....Had your post been written like this, and nothing further:

Vince, I am the C Letter dispatcher for the W9 QSL buro. One of my constituents is Steve, KU9C, the QSL manager for this operation.

Steve has the logs but the Venzuelans are printing up the QSL cards on their own and they have not yet sent them to Steve.

I would not have and issue with your response....

1288  eHam Forums / DXing / YX0A/YX0LIX QSLs???...Part II...9 months later.... on: December 15, 2006, 05:03:27 AM
...Again, I put forth the question 6+ months after my initial thread on this subject...has anyone received a QSL from this expedition from last April?...and if not, does anyone know the status.....

(and please, I am respectfully asking that I do not receive a response to this thread asking me to "show more patients"...I apologize if I come off that way, but, this is not a thread to bash or criticize anyone...This is a thread asking the status of QSLs after 9 months following this expedtiion...Thank you...).

Allow me to follow up about state side spotting state side stations.....this should (imo) be done only under these circumstances:

1. Unless it is a special event station of some kind.

2. Someone's life is in danger.

3. Or if the band, say 10 m, has been dead for a while and it all of a sudden opens up with an E opening or an auroral phenomena.....

But that's it....other than that, keep 'em DX spots.....Sorry if I ruffled feathers.....
