Bottom line--if you don't like MFJ---just don't buy their products.

Not sure how I sent the card but---worked TG9NX on 12 Meters 24 DEC 01------received nice QSL card 18 JAN 02.  I must have done it right for such a quick reply.

Never throw a card away---I kept my 7O1YGF (Yemen) in my file even tho it was denied by the DXCC desk----AND then, much later, they decided it was approved.  I'm glad I didn't toss it.

The commercial spray "TUFF STUFF" worked well on some of the trade ins that we got at the old Memphis Amateur Electronics.  Just spray and brush with a short bristled paint brush.

Hey Scott.  I still see Marshall at the "ham breakfast" at Danvers.  I miss the coffee and fellowship over on Wells Station Road.

Allen, I'm well aware of the usual turn around times---315 confirmed DXCC, some of which did take months to years. I was just giving  a pat on the back to some very good service. The other new ones worked during the contest ( PJ4/LU1FAM, PJ5/SO6X and PJ7NK) will take  longer to make it back.....but always hope for a quick return.

Another quick one--PJ2T mailed to W3HNK on 31 OCT 2011, I received my card from him on 7 NOV 2011.
Thanks to a very good QSL manager.

I worked PJ2/N1ZZ on 27 OCT 11--Sent card to Dan on the 28th.  I received his card today(5NOV).  That's what I call service.
Thanks Dan for a new entity.

My sad tale on DXCC is that T5/EI5C (Somalia 19 April 94) and VE3MJQ/YK (Syria 07/06/96) did not file proper documentation with the DXCC desk. These would bring my total up to 322 and 323.   such is life
10  eHam Forums / DXing / RE: Weekend contest a success on: October 30, 2011, 07:20:16 PM
A good weekend for me.  I was able to replace the deleted PJ2,9 and PJ7,8  using an attic loop and 100 Watts.
They bring my total to 320----all SSB

That's great.  Keep it up, before long you will have a DXCC to hang on your wall.  It all started with the first one!!

Yes, at least get your general.  It was always easy to talk on 2M because I knew the ones on the other end. I had extreme "mike fright" on HF---wondered if I knew enough about radio to get into the conversation. One day, while listening on 40M, someone said something about having to have surgery.  Now, I know about that(old Operating room nurse from the Navy). As the other parties started to leave, I finally got the nerve to put in my call sign.  Needless to say, I had an interesting QSO and made a new friend.
Get your General, and jump in.

Dealer's web site?  Sometimes they list prices.  If there are "special prices" you have to make a phone call.

As a former employee of a "now closed" radio store, the markup on radios is minimal.  The profit comes from the accessories..  The stores such as AES and HRO do receive volume discounts on their large orders
