In any case, a representative from Ten Tec posted a direct reply that they have plenty of business and are not in danger of folding. He also said the choice of hamfests to attend was purely a business decisions.
Ten Tec has publicly stated that the two radios were discontinued due to parts non-availability (something that happens commonly in the electronic industry).
It just seems that the company that once seemed to be the skunk works of ham innovation and that made "Roofing Filter" a ham household word is slowly slipping away. Could FlexRadio and Elecraft be capturing the majority of the "made in U.S.A." market and be putting the "hurt" on Ten Tec?
I'll be looking for something big from Ten Tec at Dayton 2014 if they seriously plan on sticking around.

I wouldn't get too concerned about Ten-Tec not appearing at hamfests. They are well known to be quite stingy when it comes to field marketing efforts. Look for product line additions down the road, on their terms.
