If you need or want 2 meters(100 watts)then the 746 is by far the ONY choice.I have owned an original 746 & now am using my second 746 PRO & they are GREAT rigs for ANY shack in my opinion! The 100 watt output on ALL BANDS as well as being ALL MODE on those bands is a BIG PLUS!

According to the SignaLink manual you may need to add the additional jumper(JP2)for MORE audio as described on page 6.Also turn the volume control on the SignaLink all the way UP & see if this helps.Turn the mike gain all the way DOWN(OFF)& turn OFF any compression. If this does not help then check your jumpers INSIDE the SignaLink box for correct position & make sure they are all plugged in all the way as well for a good connection.Hope this is some help?

NOT sure of how close they can be but I run a Mosley TA-53M at 50 ft. with an M2 6M5X(5 element)6 meter beam at 55 ft. with NO ISSUES as well as a Cushcraft 215WB(15 element)2 meter beam at 61 ft. all on the same tower & mast pipe. The 5 ft. spacing in my case between the HF & 6 meters beams appears to be enough that I have seen no negative issues when operating & each antenna is attached to seperate rigs!

The ICOM V-8000 & ICOM 2200H are BOTH GREAT 2 meter rigs if that is all your looking for.I use an ICOM 208H(dual band)which is only about $250 after a mail in rebate & it's a GREAT little rig as well. That's my 2 cents worth!

WA8MEA(BILL)You are CORRECT on K1MAN & his ticket being EXPIRED! I missed the 2005 date when I looked him up.Wonder WHY he is even still listed on ANY call sign lookup after being expired that long?

K1MAN is on his way OUT for GOOD this time. His ticket EXPIRES this October 2009 & if he continues his BROADCAST that will just be ANOTHER nail in his coffin.Myself & many others are awaiting his PERMENANT "GOING AWAY" which will NOT come soon enough but it will come!He is only increasing his losses at this point & in the end MAYBE he will also lose his FREEDOM just for good measure & for the good of ham radio. He is doing NOTHING that HELPS ham radio or the ham radio community just jamming one frequency 24 hours a day 7 days a week with his ILLEGAL BROADCAST!

I was just wondering what is the BEST contact you have EVER made on a 6 meter HT.I have been hearing some DX on 52.525 on my ICOM T8A as it scans but have NOT worked ANY of the stations I have heard.I have only the original TRI-BAND rubber duck & the HT puts out around 5 watts.I should NOT be able to work MOST of the stations I hear on the HT most of the time but it is after all THE MAGIC BAND so I do NOT list ANYTHING as NOT going to happen.I'm sure with a base antenna or maybe a mobile or telescopic HT antenna contacts would be more likely but I'm guessing SOMEBODY has made some pretty WILD contacts either SIMPLEX or thru a DISTANT repeater using just a rubber duck & I'd love to hear your story!I know PLENTY of peope work DX thru their LOCAL repeaters but I'm looking for contacts other than thru a repeater right outside your back door.6 meters is still my FAVORITE BAND so PLEASE share your 6 meter HT DX STORY if you have one. }:>)
