NEVER been to DAYTON but I have been to ORLANDO HAMCATION every year since 1994 & look forward to it every February.I would LOVE too also make DAYTON at least ONCE before I die but if I don't I'll NEVER know or care what I missed! Maybe when I retire in 2016 I'll make DAYTON a MUST see  at least once?

Three EASY answers:ICOM 7800,MOSLEY PRO-96S,& a US TOWER of your desired height.That will take care of MOST anything other than a rotor & there are SEVERAL "GREAT" choices that will turn that MONSTER "MOSLEY PRO-96S so have FUN! What more could a MAN want?

The FCC numbers are WRONG as with MOST numbers that are calculated by the Government.Just searching the few hams within Baker County,Fla. by the zip codes within our county which is a small county we have at least 6 more hams than we really have.The numbers will NEVER be correct because those who become SK are NOT reported & don't get removed from the FCC list of current hams until they have been a SK for several years & they do not renew.I think that from just doing a quick review I'd say we have about 5 to 7 listed in the county whom are SK have NOT renewed or have moved away.

The FCC should have given away 10 meters & kept 11 meters but as usual they SCREWED UP! The MAGNUM 257 is a HIGH DOLLAR "OVER RATED" CB RADIO that is NOT a 10 meter radio.NOTHING wrong with talking on the CB band but ONLY on LEGAL CB radios just as we all should do what's LEGAL on the Ham Radio Bands! Find you an HTX-10 or HTX-100 * ENJOY the 10 meter band while it's WIDE OPEN almost EVERY DAY!

It's an OVER PRICED CB radio that you should NOT waste your hard earned money on.Save your money & buy a rig that will do ALL of the HF bands the FIRST time & then NOT be sorry that you did not WAIT! Buyer remorse SUCKS so do the RIGHT thing from the start & save that pain for something else.

I have used BOTH the PAR OA-50 & OA-144's & they work VERY well for local & DX on 6 & 2 meter SSB.Call Dale at PAR & ask him if you can buy the HIGH POWER version if you plan on running more than 200 watts!Tell him I said,"HELLO" & I still recommend his GREAT little antennas.From package to on the air & tuned is 10 minutes MAX! }:>)

If you are at a HAMFEST & you come to a table or booth with ANYTHING on it that you are NOT interested in you can keep going.Just like if it's a piece of gear & you don't like it move on! With the TINY CROWDS at todays hamfest & swap meets MOST clubs will sell a spot for ANY vendor just for the $$$$$ so get ready for MORE & MORE of what YOU don't consider HAM RADIO RELATED items.Just like a SPEED BUMP,you will GET OVER IT& it's NOT the DEATH of HAM RADIO & the world will NOT come to an end because it's NOT what you like or would want to see so have fun & GOD BLESS! }:>)

DEDUCTABLES are MUCH HIGHER on home owners insurance than the ARRL insurance as well as a home owners claim may also be followed by a RATE INCREASE after a claim! There is a  VERY good chance of the rate increase!   They are NOT you FRIENDS & are NOT ON YOUR SIDE but more like IN YOUR WALLET as much as possible.

You can do it! Just buy a HIGH POWER dual band mobile & a deep cycle marine battery & head out.That is why it is NOT possible today.The BATTERY or POWER source would be the issue,NOT the radio! Hope you have a GOOD BACK! }:>)

The ICOM 9100 has been RELEASED in JAPAN(8-22-10).Still awaiting FCC OK for U.S.A. release.$3650 appears the STARTING price in US dollars compared to the YEN.
