I think you will find that it will fall back on YOU.If it's NOT worth a 30 minute wait to you it's OK by them because you ACCEPTED it as OK when it was delivered & signed away your claims or chances of winning one anyway! At that price what is 30 minutes? I think YOU will be stuck with damaged goods because you thought it would put the driver out a few minutes but it cost YOU not them in the end. HINDSIGHT IS 20/20 after all. God bless, Clayton W4KVW

There are also receiver pre-amps which can fail.I had one fail in my 756 PROII after about 15 months & ICOM replaced it for "FREE"! ONLY issue I have EVER had with the rig since 2003 when I purchased it NEW & I only use it EVERY DAY! }:>) Clayton W4KVW

There is ONE BIG DIFFERENCE other than the price that I found. The amount of HEAT is MUCH "LESS" it appears coming from the 572Bs compared to the 811s.The 572Bs will LAST a VERY long time in an 811 amplifier for sure.I have NOT measured the temp difference but it's VERY noticable in my shack when running the amp hard for a while! It's NOT just CBERS using & selling this crappy gear.Listen on 10 meters during most any opening & you will hear PLENTY of those ILLEGAL amplifiers & 10/11 meter radios.I heard a ham with a 5 call in Texas a couple of evenings ago during a 10 meter opening bragging about his Uniden HR-2510 & his D & A MAVERICK amplifier(BOTH which are ILLEGAL for use in the USA on ANY band). He kept giving a call sign but would say it so fast I could NOT copy what he was saying.PLENTY of our hams are using & selling these radios & amplifiers on this web site as well as others & then they complain about wide signals on the bands.Check the ads here,QRZ.com,Ebay(NOT allowed on QTH.com)& see how many of these radios(Ranger,Uniden,Connex,Superstar, ect & amplifiers(D & A,Palomar,Siltronix,Texas Star, ect)you see listed by your fellow hams who are contributing to the problem. These sites are also contributing to the problem by allowing these items too be listed knowing they are ILLEGAL for USE or SALE in the USA.If they are for outside the USA then that's a different story. It appears we as hams must police our own since the FCC could care less about the ham bands or us for that matter & there are BAD apples in EVERY bunch! The FCC is NOT coming to the rescue & if you think they are just listen to 14.275.00 24/7 & see what the FCC will do about ILLEGAL operations on the ham bands which has been going on for a LONG time much less 11 meters. Well I must say that MFJ did a fine job with a local hams(W4YJC)needs for parts for a 20 element(10 vert./10 horiz.)2 meter yagi that he purchased USED! He called MFJ & gave them the part numbers that he needed too reassemble the antenna & was told they would get back with him when they completed the move of all of the Cushcraft stock.Several weeks later he arrived home & found a package on his front porch from MFJ with the needed parts enclosed with a parts list & NO CHARGE from MFJ for the parts or the shipping. That is TOP NOTCH in my book.I have a couple of Cushcraft antennas(215WB & 13B2) but do NOT consider myself a BIG FAN of MOST of their antennas but can NOT poor mouth service like that from ANY company! I hate REPEATING myself.Make the contact the FIRST try & move on. One less LOUD signal in the pileup & FAST! Life is too short for QRP any day on any band. }:>) Clayton W4KVW

eHam Forums / Mods And Repairs / RE: ICOM 746 2 meter output power

EASY too adjust but I have owned (1) original 746 & (2) 746 PRO's & ALL put out at east 100 watts on all bands. My current 746 PRO does about 135 watts on 2 meters & 110 watts on HF & 6 meters with ZERO adjustments made.ALL of them were VERY sensitive to SWR & would drop back on the output power with VERY LITTLE SWR which I guess is a GOOD thing! NEVER had that issue but I did have a CRAZY Canadian eqsl user who sent me a NASTY GRAM for NOT answering my eqsls & NOT using the service which I CHOOSE "NOT" too use.Guess he thought he would change my mind if he acted like a total IDIOT but he FAILED! Glad some folks use it so they can save a few pennies but it's NOT for EVERYBODY!
