91  eHam Forums / Elmers / RE: Tuners external on: February 27, 2010, 07:52:48 PM
I LOVE my LDG-AT-1000 that I use with my ICOM 756 PROII & AMERITRON 811H.I have been using it for about 4 years with ZERO issues & it's VERY simple to operate.I prefer an auto tuner over the manual tuners so that's why I bought the AT-1000.

94  eHam Forums / Misc / FCC "POWERLESS"? on: January 10, 2010, 08:18:52 AM
Is it just me or is the FCC "POWERLESS" when it comes to ENFORCEMENT of the rules they have in place. The K1MAN "BROADCAST" on 14.275.00 goes on 24/7 EVERY DAY & has now for SEVERAL months & they have been UNABLE or UNWILLING to SHUT IT DOWN.1st is was a CANADIAN TERRORIST that they said they had NO CONTROL over because he lived in Canada but that is NOT an issue with the K1MAN case.K1MAN should NOT be transmitting at all since his ticket EXPIRED 10/17/05 yet the FCC has NOT been ABLE or WILLING too SHUT HIM DOWN after that long period of time. They worry about someone selling illegal CB radios in a truck stop but will not enforce those who are JAMMING the ham bands when they know WHO THEY ARE & WHERE THEY ARE? I wrote Laura an email & she just says,"We're working on it"! TYPICAL of goverment. They keep sending him letters & he continues too IGNORE them & continue his BROADCAST all the time making the FCC look "POWERLESS" or at least VERY WEAK & lacking ANY or MUCH CONTROL over the airways which they are SUPPOSE TO BE IN CONTROL of.WHAT'S THE DELAY FCC are you really "POWERLESS"Huh

95  eHam Forums / VHF / UHF / RE: Why not more activity on 2 M , 6 and 432 SSB?? on: January 02, 2010, 02:50:17 PM
The bands are STINKO right now but it will get better.I listen EVERY day to 144.200 USB & 50.125 USB & hear FEW signals but know they will return with good conditions!

96  eHam Forums / VHF / UHF / RE: emperor-ts5010 or ranger 2950 for 2 meters. on: December 31, 2009, 08:27:02 PM
The ONLY one I have heard of is the Ranger 2950 which is NOTHING but a HIGH DOLLAR CB radio that is on the FCC website listed as "ILLEGAL" for USE(on ANY band) or SALE in the USA.

Happy New Year 2010,

97  eHam Forums / Elmers / RE: Finding the right HT on: December 28, 2009, 06:29:12 PM
I have the ICOM T90A & ICOM T8A & LOVE them both. They cover 2 meters,6 meters,& 440 mhz with 5 watts output on all three bands. The extended recieve is NICE if you like to scan outside the ham bands & the T90A does that out of the box & the T8A is just a software update! If I were going to be mobile that much I think a dual band mobile rig with a seperation kit with 50 or more watts output may be a better choice & my ICOM 208H does a GREAT job in my mobile as well.

A set of 811A's cost "MUCH" less than a SINGLE 3-500 of ANY make! The difference in output is UNREADABLE on ANYBODYS S-meter.Buy the AL-811H & be HAPPY! }:>)

101  eHam Forums / QRP / RE: Launching a temproary wire up into the trees on: December 12, 2009, 07:01:32 PM
What is so TOUGH about getting a wire in a tree? Small fishing rod & a small lead weight!Cast OVER the tree or limb then tie whatever your pulling up to the string & your up & on the air.If the tree is REALLY tall use a larger rod & reel & larger lead weight. It's NOT "ROCKET SCIENCE" after all.

If it only expired 5 months ago he all he would need to do is APPLY FOR RENEWAL would he not? There is a GRACE PERIOD to RENEW!If it's a VANITY CALL he would have too pay the VANITY FEE to keep his current call sign or he would be assigned a NEW call sign I think is CORRECT?
