I think Jerry, you hit the nail on the head...even though most wouldn't post that, they certainly act like it...frustrating and irritating to say the least....if you don't want to sell something, seriously, don't post it....just don't jerk around individuals that might be interested only to never receive a response to an inquiry...
Rude, immature and pathetic...sign of the times I suppose....

Know what you mean Allen....I have responded to a host of posting, no answer, PM'd a few, no answer...I don't understand why they post an item for sale and won't even bother answering an inquiry....it is wierd...makes one think they really DON'T want to sell the item or just have poor manners....sign of the times no doubt...

Seems to be a real problem these days I have noted. I have responded to no less then 8 individuals selling something and only heard from 1 or 2. Period. Even when I went back nothing. I suppose they aren't serious about selling the item is all I can figure, or like it was posted, they check in 2 weeks or a month. LOL
Then there is the other situation. You post something and you get the usual losers that don't have any money and just waste your time "I am seriously interested", "do you still have the item?", "How much were you asking for it". Well, if one would read the posting, you would see the date, then the description and last but not least, the asking (sale) price. Pretty simple. Scares me this nit wits drive cars. LMFAO.
All kinds but it does seem to be proliferating....

Funny, as I see a warning post about N0YG trading an TS-2000 for an FT-950 and not shipping the other party their radio. Amazing...talk about glass houses....Don't know all the details and QTH.com is frequently having network problems I will pull up the posting later and get the details...

I see this character or someone posing as him again, posting something for sale on another forum. I never did see any money on my transaction, just lots of red flags...could be legit or could be not....be cautious with individuals you don't know personally.

Personally, unless you may plan in the future to go roving or portable, and save money, I would do the 450. The 950 is a generic middle of the road performer, not that great but for a casual op, probably okay. I would opt for a better base radio if I were looking like the 590, a used FT-1000, an ICOM 7200 is far better then the 950 and about the same price used but stellar DSP/NR over the 950. Really depends upon your operating needs and style.

COuld be, either way, I think as a Seller, you OWE it to your possible patrons to tell them one way or the other about the item...for sale, sold, no thanks. Otherwise, in my eyes, you are a jerk. I responded this week to 6 individuals selling the same item, requested minimal clarification, heard back from one, NADA from the other losers. Even sent them emails to their home Email and not just via the posting forum. NADA. On my list to avoid in the future. Good bye!

Man, I am not sure what is the deal these days, maybe I just happen to be seeing posts by some real losers out there...but I see an item for sale, common to say 6 sellers on various forums. I contact them, as I am interested but need a couple of simple to answer questions resolved, NADA, Zilch, Zero, Silence, etc. Never an answer. I don't get it. If you want to sell something, why do you turn away a potential Buyer/Trader for your item? Is is just laziness or what....I don't get it. PO's me a bit as I hit on the same posts later doing searched and end up wasting my time again on a dead beat seller....please, either answer the emails regarding your item or take it to Ebay...

Well, it is like the rudeness out of W2LG. I did a search and found a post for an item I would like to pursue. He comes back with "it was sold". I said thanks, would you mind updating your posting so future searching doesn't hit on your posting again. He comes back with "don't blame me". What a rude ass. Common courtesy to update your posting so you don't waste his or your time and it is too much trouble or, it is your fault for not memorizing his important callsign? I think not. Just poor practice and not using a swap board correctly (ignoring the guidelines they post and being a jerk). It matters not one bit to me to buy your item or if it is sold. I will sleep just as easy one way or the other...just follow thru with updating your posting(s). Geeze...talk about lazy....
