I never got the usb connection on the 7200 to work except with HRD, and then for rig control only. I finally got tired of fooling with it and bought a Signalink USB. Works like a champ. BTW, using Win 7, 64 bit version.

If there is an EMP everyone would be in severe trouble very shortly. 1) Rifle and many cases of ammo - to keep other desperate, starving, insane, or goverment people AWAY and keep them from killing YOU. 2) 2 large caliber pistols: one semi-auto, one revolver. many cases of ammo. (see # 1). 3) many cases of water proof matches. 4) Geiger counter and radiation chelation pills (or other). 5) Lensatic compass.
After an EMP event, non-perishable food, water purification tablets, and clothing would be necessary. Soon after an EMP event, staying alive and not starving would come first. Radios would be ancient relics, and so would every type of electronic device.

Another nice thing would be not to list products in Classifieds, when the actual intent is to buy one, or to request a manual or part for it, and not marking the ad as 'WTB' or 'wanted'.

eHam Forums / Elmers / RE: use pvc pipe for 35' mast

I have a 30 or 35' PVC mast. I used a schedule 40, 5'' piece for the base, then smaller towards the top. I don't use any guys, but it's bolted to the eaves at about 10'. Been up for about 4 years w/o problems.

They aren't dying, but shrinking. Thanks to the Obama Administration costs on everything are going up. Gas will go up again, electric will go way up after he gets his 'Cap and Trade' crap pushed through, the dollar is shrinking due to mistrust caused by the 'Idiot in Chief'. It will get worse and worse until he's out of office. Enough said.

eHam Forums / Antenna Restrictions / Antenna in neighbor's tree but over my property -
|

I have a problem here in Anniston, Alabama with my neighbors tree.
It is not touching my antennas 'yet', but is pretty close. The tree hangs out pretty far (20 feet?) over my property. I have taken photos and sent them to my home insurer.
The tree leans towards my house and the base is higher than my property by 5 to 8 feet. All the limbs are on the side leaning towards my house. If, and when it falls due to a storm or age, it will crush at least 1/2 my house.
The tree is close to my fenceline, and about 25 feet from my house.
The tree is a large oak about 70 or 80 feet tall.
We are a little outside the city line, and technically live in the county.. so... I cannot force the neighbor to cut the tree down, or trim it. Alabama law you know.
