Jack I've played with a lot of RTSystems cables and software, but not like you are wanting to do. I know that their usb>serial cable works with different radios/software, but that is a horse of a different color.
I think for you(if are only going to use kenwood software) is to buy kenwoods' PG-5G cable, which is a serial port cable. If you have a USB only computer,RTSystems above cable will get you there.
sorry I could not be of more help, but I would hate to steer you wrong with the usb to radio cable. Mike KC9BUH

HI Fred, after everyone quits comparing " how much bigger mine is" I for one would like to know what solution you've come up with. I have thought about buying a 350z at different times and wonder about antennas and radio mounting solutions
Mike KC9BUH
by the way I have used UHF/NMO Hole/Lip mount antennas systems. depends on the cirumstance.

Sir Go to rt systems web site and download "find com part"(it will be listed under FAQ) plug in your serial port adapter and run this program.it will list the portsthat are avalible. What I have run up against is a lot of program/radios require com port 1. You may have to swap usb ports to find the right one.
not to promote rt systems but I would buy their serial port conveter and run it.I have no problems with it. kc9buh

I have tried ebay usb to radio cables(no luck)
NEVER had a problem with RT System's converter
SO if i say something is bad,ok,good or the best you really should listen and not chastise.

Well I was wondering if anyone had tried it and which side of the open coil whip to trim,if not both sides.I have plenty of extra antennas to play with. Does the 440 portion radiate from the top? I posted in a couple of forums in case SOMEONE ONLY READ ONE OF THE TWO FORUMS.
