Ive asked before on this forum, does anyone own a Redifon GR377 ships radio. They seem rarer than hens teeth amonst the Ham fraternity, perhaps i am the only one in England with a modified and working unit........

I wonder if anyone has fitted the Inrad ssb filter to their ft 897 radio, if so what opionion did they have of same, also was it a easy installion?

Can i use 2 external storage devices on win.98se, my external hard drive shows as drive D, but when i load driver for the memory stick it it is not detected at all, is there a drive E ? both units are in a usb port.........thanks

        They do run bloody hot dont they,
It cannot be good for any piece of equipment to run at these temperaturea, I've modified my 706 mk2 so the fan runs at half speed all the time on receive and tx, this has over the past 2 years made a BIG difference to case temp. which used to become too hot to touch...................

     When i press f and then tone i also get the bar, but the manual states in the top right hand corner there will be a indicator for ctss, i dont get thie display at all. The only way it will tx the ctss tone is if i keep tone button depressed, then the repeater will come up but on pressing the mike button i cannot go through the repeater......

     The whole thing is a pain,because even if it worked there is no 1750 on the ctss pcb so its down to a whistle.......    anyway i will have to leave it for a while because the external hard drive has packed up now on the p.c.

         Yes it works perfectly with the original 1750 board, havent tried talking with call button depressed yet. Tried pressing f then tone and i do not get the display in top right corner, which leads me to think it is not a compatable model..

Hi Paul,
        Yes its a  genuine ctss board from Yaesu, which replaces the 1750 pcb the ctss will not run continuously unless the call button is kept depressed.

Dear Sir,
         I wonder if yo can help me, I have the B version of this radio, upon removing the 1750kcs tone board and installing the ctss pcb, i find i can only bring up a repeater on this system by pressing the call button, but no voice from me goes through, is my version not compatable with a ctss pcb

          I live in south london and there are at least 3 repeaters that are quite strong with me, but apart from the odd shout they are dead most of the time. perhaps they are all playing on h.f.

 I wonder if anyone else is concerned about how hot the radio gets, on high power its like touching a hot chestnut, cant be doing the components any good. Ive altered mine so the fan runs at half speed all the time and only steps up when the temp. rises...what a difference
