eHam Forums / Elmers / Kenwood TS-2000 VS-3 Voice Synthesizer

Will the Vs-3 read all the menus on the ts-2000? If your blind and cannot read the menus on todays rigs your dead in the water. You can't change power levels, filter settings and the like. I was considering the icom ic-7000 but icom said that their voice synth will only read the screen like freq, meters mode and such. That is not nearly good enough for a blind person to independantly run the radio by themselves. Thanks Gary/WR1U

eHam Forums / Elmers / Yaesu vx-170 how to do split pl tones?
|

i hve a yaesu vx-170. The local repeater transmits tone squelch freq of 127.3 but there is a remote receiver which uses 110.9. I want to receive the tone squelch 127.63 but transmit 110.9. Yaesu said to load in the repeater as normal with the receive pl tone and then go to vfo put in just the xmit freq with the encode pl push the f/n key and hold the ptt while putting that freq into the same memory as the receive freq. I reverts to the receive tone and will not xmit 110.9. Am I doing something wrong or is yaesu wrong and the radio will not do split pl tones. Thansk. Gary.

Hi, i have a bad mic for a yaesu ft-2500m. It's the mh-27 mic and you can't find them anymore. Anyone know if there is an alternative mic for that radio? Thanks 73 de Gary/WR1U

Home Depot is within walking distance so I will go there and look for myself. I called them and they had no idea what i was talking about. Kids must have grown up on cable. I'm sure I can find something. They do have the bungie cords though so I can at least get them.

Basically i live in a 2 story townhouse. I have a deck on the back. Right now i have a diamond x50 antenna in my storage shed which is up against the building and it's inside. I want better coverage. What I want to do is ubolt about 20-25 feet of mast to the corner of the deck with the x50 on top of it. What would be a good avenue to go? I may in the future upgrade the antenna to maybe an x500 or something that has 6-2-440 on it.

Where can i find antenna mast? Radioshack doesn't sell it in their mall stores, neither do home depot, best buy or circuit city. radioshack has it in a store on the other side of town by it is $22 for 10ft and that sounds high to me. Any ideas? Online place? Thanks Gary.
