R.E. 'illegality':
You CANNOT transmit any pages with commercial content using Ham Frequencies. The page you are reading this on, with it's numerous ads, would not be legal to transmit uder Part 97 using Amateur frequencies. However, it is perfectly legal using unmodified Part 15 equipment.

Sure you can use any legal Amateur frequency but, what do you do to filter out commercial ads or off-color popups, etc. from the data stream? These are a BIG no-no per the FCC. Also, the net data rates are so abysmally slow, you could be waiting many minutes for an even moderately complicated page to be sent.

K6CU Writes:
.... This kind of problem comes under a different heading, typically under the heading of "nuisance" or "general harmony" of the community. I had permission to put up the antenna, but was told not to use it or face a fine for being a nuisance!
=================
Nuisance: Barking Dog Loud Stereo The couple who have their fights with the windows open Coming home from work at midnight Slamming your card door That annoying chirp the car alarm makes when you set it Running that table saw in the garage etc. etc.
HOA's that try this one can find themselves a a very slippery slope!

While this appears to be OT, if you order something and can't get it to you???
I just received delivery of a 6M beam antenna via UPS. The driver did the usual knock and run although, it WAS OBVIOUS, the package was damaged.
I took a quick run up the road to the UPS terminal to see what they could do about it. The counter person told me to go home, call the 800 number and set up an appointment for someone to come to my home and evaluate the damage.
Lets see, they damage the item, I go to their office and they tell me I have to wait till their person can get to me? BS! Pure and simple!
WHY couldn't the driver have waited a few seconds, with that obviously damaged package, and given me the 800 number and told me what the drill was?
I will no longer deal with ANY mail order company that cannot ship other than UPS.
<<<Take two deep breaths and center.>>>
So, I started to think about packages that I have gotten in the past that were delivered damaged. The results are:
USPS - 1 (OK, this one did have tire tracks on it) FEDEX - 0 DHL - 1 (the box was dropped and repackaged - when the driver delivered, they waited for me to check the package, had the required forms with them and returned the damaged package with no fuss) Airborne Express - 0 UPS - 7 (including this incident - every time, there has been some hangup in the process)
So remember, when you have a choice of shippers, you have a choice. Go with UPS or go with someone who gets the job done.

Sorry, the restriction on TV antennas (and also applies to direct broadcast satellite TV antennas) is preempted by Federal regulations and unenforceable. As far as other outside antennas, gotcha!
As to radio stations, if you have an attic antenna and a valid Amateur license, they can go pound sand. The FCC and ONLY the FCC have the statutory rights to license and regulate radio transmissions.

It all depends on local zoning, and CC&Rs, if any. Blanket statements, such as you quoted, do not cover all contingencies.

I am currently working on a DOS based control program for the TS2000. The first phase is a "exerciser" program which I am using to debug my code modules for accessing each avilable CAT command.
When these modules are done, I will combine them under a DOS, Text based user interface to create the finished control program. Ths finished program will provide all the capabilities of the Kenwood control program along with memory control capabilities.
The user interface will work with both a keyboard only and a mouse/keyboard. The interface is being designed for CGA capabilites to make it viable for low end DOS PCs and laptops. I will also test it using MS WIN98 SE running as an MSDOS machine from bootup (not a DOS window).
I will make this available as freeware. Further announcements of availibility will be forthcoming.
Program development is being done in Turbo Pascal 7.0, Async Professional library for serial communications, and TurboJock for Objects for the user interface.
