1  eHam Forums / Misc / HAMigg.de - Social bookmarking/news site on: June 21, 2007, 10:46:56 PM
DL6KAC has put together a new website.  The site is inspired by http://digg.com but focused just on ham radio.  DL6KAC defines it:
"What is HAMigg?
HAMigg is a social bookmarking platform for ham radio and tech related topics."

I think this would be another great site to gather the latest news.  The site will only be good if people submit articles though!  So, go check it out at:

I haven't tried it myself, but I've been told that you can just use something like a cookie sheet or a pie pan.

4  eHam Forums / APRS / Kenwood TH-D7A with Magellan Sportrac on: August 21, 2006, 11:21:06 AM
For my Magellan Meridian to work with the Kenwood TH-D7A, I had to set "WAYPOINT" (2-3) to : 6digits MGN
My guess is that it is a Magellan specific thing.  I used "9digits NEMA" for my Garmin etrex Legend.

I had to fumble through this myself and tried to document it somewhat.
I created a page at:

Hopefully future people will find this link useful!  I hope the orginal poster was able to get it working as well!

I just got back from vacation on the 13th.  I went through security twice at GRR (got bumped to a different flight) and didn't have any problems either time with my Kenwood TH-D7 being in my carry-on.  They paused as my backpack went throught the x-ray... but I can hardly blame them since inside was a digital camera, ipod, my HT, laptop power-supply, audio-cables, etc.
Although it was before the UK stuff, I left from SJC without any problems as well.

I would highly recommend having a copy of your license along... and being able to prove you can turn it on and it works.

Good Luck!
Dave
