17  eHam Forums / VHF / UHF / HT 2m/70cm antenna for VX-5RS on: August 26, 2002, 06:38:48 PM
Try the MFJ 1717, especially made for 2m/440 (sorry, no suggestions for the 70cm).  It's about 15.5 inches long with a BNC connector.
18  eHam Forums / VHF / UHF / easy outdoor antenna project for an HT on: August 26, 2002, 06:36:02 PM
Can anybody give me some links or other info on easy outdoor antenna projects for 2m/440, especially for a Yaesu VX-1R?  By the way, I'm not exactly savvy on electronics.
19  eHam Forums / Elmers / New 2m ham needs autopatch info on: July 08, 2002, 09:25:09 PM
First, I'd like to thank all of you who answered my previous post.  My question is about autopatches.  Is is usually necessary to use the '*'(star) symbol before dialing the number?  Does this depend on the autopatch itself?  Any other advice and useful links would be helpful.  Tnx!

20  eHam Forums / Elmers / New 2meter ham needs info on etiquette and repeate on: June 08, 2002, 08:28:58 PM
I just puchased a new 2m/440 handheld.  No other ham that I am friends with uses the lower bands.  I need some information on etiquette on 2m and the use of 2m repeaters.  I also welcome any redirections to helpfu websites.  Tnx!
