I don't have a answer for that but if you need any parts let me know I'm parting one out, and I have those Xtal's if it turns out you need them. Did not see a e-mail for you when I clicked your call so I posted here. Good luck. 73 W7XLR w1xlr@hotmail.com

I have ordered two used radios from them they were shipped on time and most important they were not stripped of options! A lot of used dealers will take out options (tone boards, etc.) and sell them seperate. I check their site whenever I feel like buying something to see what they have. 73

eHam Forums / Elmers / How to connect Freq. Counter

Thanks for the reply's. It does read VERY well on SSB, my problem was loop moving around coax or falling off when I move stuff around etc. Sorry did not explain well. I was just looking for a more secure way to hook it up. Have some ideas now. Radio is on my bench and the wires get moved around a lot and I have to fiddle around to get it to pick up again. Will mount coax to case and strip it back and secure it in place on coax with tape. It is a very sensitive counter picks up my 2M xmit very well just seems to need a little more on 6M (any mode).
Thanks.......

What would be the best way to pick off frequency from radio without raising SWR or damaging counter. I have the hot lead from the counter wrapped around the coax but it is erratic. I have a old Heathkit IB-1103 counter and a FT-620B 6M rig about 20W PEP SSB. I'm trying to remember but I think that it would need a .001 or so capacitor to go direct to antenna output. Have been looking through my electronics books but can't find info. off hand. Any help would be appreciated. 73 w1xlr@hotmail.com

After further checking it turned out to be a problem on the Power supply board AC input ok, but there were DC voltages missing at various test points. I'm doing it the easy way, not having a lot of test equiptment; I just ordered all new semiconductors for the board. In addition there was a plug missing on back that must be used when not using external VFO original owner remembered then gave me the VFO for it (althought it had no effect with the P/S problem) Thanks for the idea about checking the P/S board.

eHam Forums / Mods And Repairs / Kenwood TS-700SP Stuck on 141.000.0

I have a friends TS-700SP that has been sitting for years and would like to buy if we can get it working. When first turned on there was no read out then came on later (was not there not sure of exact detail) anyway it's stuck on 141.000.0 no RX, does not change no matter what control is tried, Mode, Rit, VFO,CH, etc. No response. It has been suggested to check for leaking caps, and I will. I was wondering if anybody has came accross this problem before? Trying to find out if it's something I can fix with my limited test equiptment VOM/ Freq. Counter or if it's worth sending out for repair?
Thanks,
Robert W1XLR/7

I just traded for a FT-401B because I love old Tube type radio's and to get motivated to upgrade. It was tested by former owner on 20M after sitting for many years and works fine. Only problem was a stiff mode switch and no LSB. I cleaned the switch and it works ok now. The only problem with radio is there is no LSB RX on any band I can't try Xmit but assume it's the same. I do have manual and will start looking into it soon, but just thought it may be a common problem with a simple answer. Thanks.......
