Does it have a narrow CW filter? RTTY works much better with a narrow filter. I'd find that out first--and then figure out what I need to do to use it if it has it--the rig may need to be in FSK mode, which would rule out the popular use of AFSK. Zack W1VT

Does it count if the DX has to call CQ for his next QSO? Well, there was a pileup when I started listening...
IIRC, I broke the XT2TT pileup on 80 meters with a slight twist on #4--the I realized after the first call that there were too many stations on the frequency I called, so I immediately moved a few hundred Hz and called again, so I was able to get in at the beginning of the pileup instead of the end... Sure helps to have a rig that does QSK.

Andy, UA0BA was quite strong on 15M SSB the other day, so I went ahead and worked him.
Turns out that he is in Zone 18!

I've never seen such a collection of audio files--and I've seen more technical resources than most hams.
The best way to fix a problem like that is to get a general coverage receiver to listen to the various oscillators and signals to find the bad one(s). A receiver is typically so sensitive that no connection is required. While it is certainly possible to get fooled--such a loud signals can sound distorted when they are fine, this should allow you to focus in on the problem.

Monaco is not a "dime a dozen." There are only a few stations able to make worldwide contacts and even those stations do not put out very strong signals.
Even if that were true, ClubLog shows a fair bit of activity. https://secure.clublog.org/mostwanted2.php?dxcc=260Not even in the top 100 most wanted. It's #146. Sure, it's not Italy or Germany but it's actually less rare than FJ or J8 and only slightly more rare than Curacao which has superstation PJ2T on it. If you filter Clublog's database by location to North America, Monaco rises to #48! Making its rarity similar to Bhutan(47) or the Maldives(51). Zack W1VT

I got VK9NT on 30M with 100W and a 20' flagpole vertical. There is a lot of stuff I can work between the sunrises in Europe and New England. The bands quiet down so much that it is quite common to hear rare DX calling CQ. But it gets much tougher after New England sunrise. Zack W1VT

In order for crimping to work properly, you need a close fit between the sleeve being crimped and the metal underneath. LMR-400 has a lower loss than RG-213 because it has a fatter center conductor--you won't be able to fit a crimp RG-213 center pin onto LMR-400.
RG-214 features two outer braids--you won't be able to get the RG-213 crimp sleeve to fit.
S is for silver and T is for Teflon.
