1  eHam Forums / Mobile Ham / TS-2000, RV and? on: May 12, 2003, 01:41:06 PM
Howdy: I'm looking for some ideas on what antennae to get so that I can take my TS-2000 along in the RV. I can mount the antenna either 'on top' (i.e. on the metal roof), or fasten it to the ladder in the back.

I have a 2m/70cm dual bander, so I'm mostly interested in an inexpensive HF antenna. Since the 2000 has a built-in tuner,...

... would a 102" whip work (be tuneable), 40m - 10m?
... would a, say 40m hamstick work (be tuneable), 40m - 10m?
... would a screwdriver work better?
... what would be the best solution if I wanted 75m as well?
... what's the best place to mount the antenna?

Cheers, Alain - NI0Z.
2  eHam Forums / Elmers / TS-2000 Internal Keyer??? on: August 18, 2002, 02:44:39 PM
Howdy all...

I've got a TS-2000 with both a straight key and a paddle connected to it. All was working fine until a couple of days ago, when the internal keyer just stopped responding - cannot get another beep out of it.

I unplugged the key/paddle and did a full reset, but to no avail. Anybody have any idea what else to look for? Will I have to call Kenwood and send the radio in?

Thanks much, Alain NI0Z.
