Wow! I guess they are legit!
I decided to wander over their after receiving a promo for free advertising for my ham business. While there, I decided to sign up and check into those 70+ cards.
I was amazed! Nice cards from the people I was in QSO with according to my own personal logs.
For some reason, the cards would not print up to 4 x 6 when I attempted to use their function. However, I was able to "Copy Image", put on MS Word and make them roughly 4 x 6. Since I make my own homebrew cards using software, I decided to use the same card stock I use on my own cards. It worked out well and they all look highly professional.
A lot of work to do over the next few weeks as I try to match what is in there with what is in my personal logs with what has already been done via SASE. These eQSL's go all the way back to 2000!

How many of you remember "The Little Print Shop"?
I opened an envelope today and knew right away it was a card by "The Little Print Shop"! Nice memories!! This fella must've ordered a ton of these. Although just a slight bit yellowish, it was remarkably well preserved. He probably keeps them in an airtight container.

I just received the following e-mail: Hello (WA8MEA), I have sent you an electronic QSL card. You can pick it up by going to http://www.eQSL.cc As soon as you register, you can display and print my eQSL and the other 77 eQSLs waiting for you there. 73, KC4TVZ ---------------------------------------------------- Now I don't think this is affiliated with LOTW. And I don't do much DX. Most of my contacts are Special Events and those are specially printed QSL's and certificates. I just don't see how in the hell I've got 77 e-QSL's waiting for me there! Anyone else know anything about these folks??? 73, Bill - WA8MEA

You know, if there was some grand conspiracy by Budd with regard to a review/advertising/marketing scheme, I'm doubtful that he would post a set of homebrew instructions. ---------------------------------------------------- I heard a similar excuse used by a nutcase on shortwave who states that listeners could make copies of his videos and give them to as many people as they wanted. This supposedly made him credibal...claiming he wasn't into video production just to make money.
As soon as a local preacher started copying and handing out the videos by the hundreds, the "talk show host" suddenly changed his mind.
Bud knows 80% of the people won't bother to homebrew his antenna. He's using this as a gimmick, just like the fella in the above paragraph(s).
That said, I like gimmicks! If it helps to sell a product, more power to 'em.

eHam Forums / Elmers / Speakers like resistors?

Low frequencies (100 Hz) might be closer to 5 ohms and the impedance at 2000 Hz might be closer to 3 ohms. ------------------------------------------------------- And this is what I was mainly concerned about: The frequency response of 4 ohms versus 8 ohms.
I hooked up the four ohm and it just didn't seem favorable to my eardrums.
Thanks one and all!

Are connecting speakers the same as connecting resistors?
I have two, FOUR OHM speakers. My Icom's external speaker jack states 8 ohms.
I'll cut to the chase: Do I connect the two speakers in series or parallel to get an 8 ohm result?

I ALWAYS remember that it's Morse because I'm reminded of the drop-dead gorgeous Morse sisters who lived in my neighborhood during my pubescent years.
Here's to Sheila, Pam & Paula....sun bathing in their back yard....during the summer of '72.

I just saw a "partial" review by K3CLT telling us about his problems with his Pyramid supply.
You're antenna installation gave this away. (End fed, tuner, I do believe you mentioned....) Pyramids DO NOT LIKE RF of any kind. RF automatically triggers the shutdown mechanism. Now when I speak about shutdown, this is where the "danger" light starts to flicker on and off and the supply has no voltage/amperage showing on the meters.

UPDATE:
Finally got enough snow melt and a decent enough day that I could go outside and address what was wrong.
Took down the far end wire which connects to the center of the coax....and brought that into the shack. Cut a little insulation off and then touched the VOM to that end and then to the center pin of the PL-259. No "swing" on the meter. Uh, oh.
So I went outside and tried from the end of the wire to the connection on the center insulator. Plenty of swing! Hmmm. Then went down to where the PL-259 fits into the center insulators SO-239. No swing. Just as I noticed there was no swing on the meter, the center insulator came apart in my hands!
I'm not going to mention the company. Not their fault. That tree limb landed on some pretty tough electrician grade 12 gauge wire and instead of the wire breaking....the center insulator just decided it would absorb the strain/shock.
So....replaced the old insulator in nothing flat. My neighbor helped me put the pole back up in the air, and we're back in business!
