1  eHam Forums / Boat Anchors / Restore Kenwood TS-830S on: July 11, 2012, 04:47:34 AM
Does anyone know of anyone else that repairs and restores Kenwood TS-830S transceivers that is reliable? K4EAA is slowing down due to health issues. If possible in the Southern NJ area.

Thanks,
Dave (KC2PHJ)

If that is the case, how come some people can transmit via their rain gutters and using a tuner?

Does anyone have any experience with this antenna?
Can it be tuned in with a tuner for 12, 15 or 17M with a good tuner?

7  eHam Forums / Elmers / Armstrong Rotor on: March 08, 2008, 02:48:00 PM
I've heard about this rotor and I'm thinking to use it for a project at my QTH. It will be for a small antenna.
Are these able to be brought or do you have to make it?
Any information?

Thanx,

What model tuner do you suggest?

1/2 G5RV between two trees. I live in a small lot. That is the only I can install it.

Every time I broadcast on my radio (20m, 10m, 6m), I can hear it on several speakers of the various computers in the house.  Would a low pass filter take care of this? I'm a new ham.

Thanks,

12  eHam Forums / Elmers / G5RV Antenna Feedline on: July 08, 2007, 07:10:41 PM
I have recently installed a G5RV antenna. Its designed for 40-6M. Its 51 ft. with a 16 ft 300 ohm line turning tail. From the tail the coax line is attached to my LDG Z-100 tuner then my radio. It tunes in great on 40, 20 & 6m (< 2.0:1). The other bands 18, 15 & 12M has a high SWR (higher than 3.0:1 SWR). 10M the SWR is 2.5:1. I have 50 ft of coax from the tuning tail to the tuner. Should I shorten the coax to get a better SWR on the other bands?
13  eHam Forums / Elmers / Hustler 5BTV on 40/75M on: May 20, 2007, 06:51:05 AM
Does anyone have any experience with these antennas on 40/75M bands? Does it work alright on 75M ? Does the amount of radials effect bandwidth? I'm thinking about getting one of these and wondering about the coverage of the higher bands based on owners experience.

Thanks,

KC2PHJ
14  eHam Forums / Elmers / Good vertical antenna..... on: April 30, 2007, 05:54:18 PM
What would be a good vertical antenna if you don't have room for radials and would cover 10-80m? Also take more than 200 watts.
15  eHam Forums / Elmers / 450 Ohm Ladder line Vs Distance from rain gutter. on: April 29, 2007, 08:09:46 PM
Thanks for your response. My problem is that I have extra ladder line. I had to have to run it parallel next to rain gutter.I brought an Buxxcomm #406nt dipole and it has 60 ft. of 450 ohm ladder line. Could you cut the extra ladder line so that it would be shorter say 40 ft long?
