I have a schematic in pdf format if that helps? The two most expensive components are the main controller IC and the power FETs. Replacement of these items will be more expensive than the purchase of a replacement power supply from another manufacturer.

Burghardt have the following part price:
MB2013A VXR-7000VC 122.80
According to the schematic this is the main 'do everything' IC on the 110 volt side of the power supply.
They do not list a price for the FET but it looks like the parts price you paid was not excessive.

I have a cable TV amplifier chip which specifies the maximum input as 50 dBmV into 75 ohms. If I put my scope across this how many volts peak-to-peak should I measure (and what is the formula)?

Some of us have been using 10 metre fishing poles as portable antenna for years. This is a nice idea but it is not new.

Talk of the QEX amplifier in an earlier post makes me ask this question. Why are there so few amplifier kits available? The only place I can find (worldwide) is a company called Communication Concepts.
I know that there is a rule made by the US FCC concerning ham amplifiers and CB radios but this should not affect the rest of the world, so what is happening?
