all the Yuasa were mfg in china.

I give the old batteries away and they work just great.

Right, the FCC has no jurisdiction in other countries but
they do have rules on importing these amplifiers into the USA.

Limited resources and too many rule breakers for them to deal with.

circuit is working.....

There is a RED thermistor which controls this. Its mounted approx 3/4"
forward of the 12VDC power plug. With the radio on, take a hair drier and
heat up that thermistor. If the control circuit is working, the fan should

often you can find used Weller 100-120W irons on ebay,
they use them for constructing stain glass windows and other fixtures.

A Weller SP-120 is the difference between a heat source and a heat sink.

I also use a drop or two of liquid flux and that helps a lot.

Allen is correct about the ground screws on the boards,
best practice with these fine hybrid radios is to give a good
cleaning of the switches and bandswitch, using Deoxit or your
favorite contact cleaner, just the smallest amount, don't let it
wick into the pc board or the wafers on the bandswitch.

You may want to check the solder joints for the pins on the
pc board that mate to the cable connectors, many owners have
found cracked solder joints and once repaired  you are back on the air.
