Check out the Kenwood 480 or 480HX. I LOVE mine & will work great in your mobile too! I've seen these used for $650-$800.

Contact Dave, WD6AXM as he knows most everybody in that area. He owns the local Yuba/Sutter repeater outside of the area.

The MaxRad I use on my Jeep works great! THe whip is cut to 48 1/2 inches. Try that & see how it does. 73, Charlie

10  eHam Forums / Misc / Paying to view Eham!!!!!!! on: April 25, 2004, 02:30:26 PM
I look at it this way: MOST Hams who list here also list the same items on QRZ.COM or OTH.COM so you can go there for free & see the items for sale.
Just my 2 cents!

I drive truck & have a MaxRad 2 meter antenna mirror mount that works just fine! I'm getting ready to install a Atas 120 roughly the same way. Glad your back & may catch you on the road sometime...73, Charlie  KE6OUD

Does anybody know how to reset the CPU on this radio to wipe out old memories or do I have to re-write over them? Thanks, Charlie  KE6OUD  ( cswim@sbcglobal.net )

14  eHam Forums / Mods And Repairs / Afterburner Mod? on: May 25, 2003, 01:21:03 PM
I bought a 10 meter tube type base linear amp with am/ssb & fm modes that does about 120 watts on the advice of my tech that it can be converted to 6 meter use. He passed away before I took delivery of it now I'm in the dark on how to perform this mod. I have liitle knowledge of this stuff but willing to learn if someone out there could send me info on this. Thanks, Charlie
