I recently purchased a used Butternut HF3B; how much de-tuning might be experienced if the antenna is mounted about 15 feet above my shop's metal roof? Would a VHF/UHF beam de-tune as well above this roof? Thanks for any feedback.
I believe the answer is no, however, I purchased items from a SK's estate, including an Icom charger and an ht with a newer NiMH BP-8 batt pack - original packs were Nicads, since NiMH technology wasn't out yet. I assume that the NiMH BP-8 pack can't be charged in the Icom BC-35 charger, which is for Nicads only?
Does anyone know of a source for foam on the end of the Icom SM-6 microphone? I just purchased a SM-6 from a SK's estate today, and the foam could use replacing.
