wx7g,thanks, Dave, I have the Magnum Reasearch 2212 and it will be fed from my diesel genset(an old Onan hybrid-6kw brushless) . I will place the inverter 26 feet away from the radio shack. By looking at the manual for the inverter you can get any other infoneeded. Again, thanks, kl2ec

I am building my new house and live without commercial power. I see that the manual included with my inverter states that RF noise is going to be a problem if the inverter is close to the electronic equipment.I am planning the radio shack about 26 feet away from theinverter. If this isn't far enough away would some kind of faraday cage around either the radio shack or inverter going to help?

I bought the SCS pactor modem thinking I could use it for PSK31 as well as airmail. When I tried to link up on PSK, I get the message that there is no sound card or it's busy. Has anyone been able to link up? What am I missing?

Steve, Welcome back to the fold. My first rig is still my favorite- the Ic-730. cheap, easy to use and pretty reliable. Smaller than most of the others, too.

I am running a YK inverter/charger on my toyotomi heater. It raises the noise level to +20. I can't unplug it because I am Off grid and need it for heat. Question - How do I quiet the charger down?
