I used a Kantronics tnc that interfaces to a lot of different radio. you might locate one at a ham fest or on line try e bay.
 I still have a new unused e prom for the kantronics.
but no way to read it.

Sorry about misspelling PIPE.

Why shouild i throw out the inductor that was one of the first things to try from a previous posting.

the noise is getting in the radio through the antenna.

All 1996 GMC Sonimas were GAS this one is the 4.3 V6

I have a 1996 GMC pickup.
Keenwood 450S radio.
MFJ Screwdriver Mounted behind the cab, 4ft coax, 4 ft control cable to the controler ran in a diferent route than the coax.
Power to the radio is run via # 10 flex conduit grounded at the battery with 1/2 braid 10'' long, through AN inductor made of # 10 wire 20' long, and conected direct to battery with power wir 6' long.
All doors,hood hinges,Tail pie 3 spots Are all grounded with 1/2'' braid crimped and solidered.
All this no help the noise is still so bad the radio is useliss while enjine is running.
Works great with out enjine.

If anyone knowes if the ameritron screwdriver antenna
can be used as a base antenna in a fashion that will alow the antenna to be easly moved from the base setup to a moterhome class A setup.
