Baltimore, Maryland July 24th, 20006 ------------------------- The new City of Baltimore RACES group needs volunteers. Baltimore City RACES is growing and needs additional volunteers to meet the requirements set forth by the City of Baltimore. Baltimore City RACES requires all volunteers to pass a background check conducted by the Baltimore City Police. In addition to passing the background check, each volunteer must pass the NIMS IS700 online test. This is available through FEMA's website and typically can be completed in about an hour. The test is online and "open book". Baltimore City RACES is responsible for providing backup emergency communications between the Baltimore City EOC, the Baltimore City Fire Department, Baltimore City Police, various city agencies, shelters, etc... If you are interested in amateur radio public service, live in or near Baltimore City, please contact me regarding the Baltimore City RACES program. Thank you and 73. eHam Forums / Computers And Software / Echo Link Conference Setup Help
|
on: August 26, 2005, 04:48:35 AM
|
|
Good day everyone. I am in need of some assistance in connecting to a conference on Echolink. I have created a conference for the Baltimore City RACES group to be accessed from two EOCS and Baltimore City Police locations. Setup was fairly direct and simple, and once approved by the folks at Echolink, the node is up and running. But... I am unable to connect to the conference as it times out. I am not trying to connect from within the same location as the server since you need a different public IP than what the server is using. I have gone through the conf file and didn't see anything that was set incorrectly, but I may have missed something. So, anyone with experience in setting up a conference who likes troubleshooting, please help. I need to present this to a Lieutenant in the police department next week. Thanks to all and 73!

eHam Forums / Emergency Communications / Callsign Database

Good day everyone. I am looking for a solution to my problem. I need to be able to sort a callsign database by zip code. I have downloaded the FCC database for my city in delimited text, but when I import it into Excel the fields are not all correct and it would take many hours to sort the data. Does anyone know of a database that I can sort my zip code and save or export to an Excel spreadsheet? Something that would be very quick and easy to do. Thanks to all & 73!

Good day everyone! I have a problem with my TNC and my 2m rig. When the tnc xmits it is not keying the radio. It receives fine, just doesn't key the rig. I am pretty sure I have wired the connector up properly, but to be sure here is what I have. From the TNC to the RJ45: white to pin 3 (mic), red to pin 5 (stby/ptt) and black to to pin 6 (gnd). I have numbered the pins on the RJ45 with the tab up, pin one on right and eight on left if you were to look at the RJ45 directly, tab up. Anyone have any ideas or corrections to my wiring?
Thanks and 73 to all.
Christopher, N3QXX
