61  eHam Forums / Elmers / Th-F6A Aftermarket Antennas on: October 15, 2002, 05:14:34 PM
I don't use that antenna, went with a MFJ instead but anyway...The new antenna should not do anything to the HF bands, they use the internal antenna.  I'm pretty sure.
62  eHam Forums / Elmers / HT on Empire State bldg on: October 05, 2002, 03:53:29 PM
Hey, First I have no idea if it is even legal to dotransmit from there but....  My wife and I are going to NYC this Dec.  Between all the shopping that my wife has planned she asked me what 1 thing I wanted to do most of all while we were there.  Well I thought it would be kinda cool to get on top of the Empire state bldg with My TH-F6A ( I put that so you would know what bands I have avaliable) and see how far it would talk.  My first question is would I be allowed to transmit with an HT from there?  Second would it be any different than here in Arkansas?  I mean would it get out lots farther?  Thanks in advance.

63  eHam Forums / Elmers / First QSO help on: September 26, 2002, 08:04:34 PM
Hello, Just today got my Call sign!!!!  Ran outside to try my new HT out and no one would answer....  So I am still waiting for my first qso.  It seems that everyone here knows everyone else and I'm the new guy.  So my question is how do I get a response?  I said KD5TXX Monitering.  Is that right? Another problem is it is a TR-F6A and I have no idea the range on a HT.  Can someone help me out here?  Thanks.
