I've recently moved and in that process disconnected certain relationships with some folks that I don't want
finding me.

Long story short I don't want my new address to be shown on the FCC database or QRZ,
do I remember correctly that you can do a change of address to a PO BOX?

Rob--

I still have your D-104, in the same box you shipped it in.

Lost your phone number, mine is still the same.

And the email address you had for me got hosed.

How to get in touch?

If you still have my phone number, please call.

Thought you fell off the face of the planet. :-p

Can you shoot me an email? Phundle@gmail.com

Hope everyone has been well I've put all the good advice I've gotten here to use and just a few months ago completed my WAS. HI and AK where easy compared to Utah to Montana...go figure!

Anyway I'm noticing the prices on D-104's going up and I wanted to get one for my IC-718 I've seen the mod designs and the Heil kit you can use to change the impedance and improve overall functionality.

My problem is, well I just can't hold a soldering iron steady anymore--last time I tried to use it I dropped it in my lap, really don't want to do that again for obvious reasons.

I googled around and there doesn't seem to be very many folks selling already modded D-104's so I'm looking for someone who may be doing that, or someone perhaps willing mod one for me--I'd supply the parts and make it worth your while.

Any info on the subject would be much appreciated and as always Thanks In Advance :-)

Hey guys this is the first big disaster that's happened since I got my ticket. Any tips on what frequencies to follow and general tips on QSP and other best practices?

I just didn't realize that the full amplitude went backwards into the tuner--now that I think about it makes perfect sense:

The tuner has to electrically match the load--which HAS increased thus it has to be able to handle that power.

@N3OX

Well, I'm not expecting a wonder-tenna....but since it's going to cost me FIVE DOLLARS to setup what the heck...maybe I'll use it as a "noise antenna."

@N3JBH

THANK YOU.

I guess it's just my pure ignorance of how amps work.

I have a MFJ-949D someone gave me that if memory serves is rated to 300W.  Was hoping someone made an amp in that wattage range that didn't cost close to a grand.

I've gotten my hands on a couple of 40M hamsticks and I'm thinking of building one of those rotatable dipoles.

I can source the special clamp designed to hold them properly to the mast.

Here's my question:  How do you wire these up? I can't seem to find a good set of instructions online.  The ones I have are just threaded at the end to fit into a mag-mount.

@KA5N
So even this one would blow my tuner?

BTW, thanks for a recommendation on an alternative.

I'm getting my atnennas squared away finally and was wondering if someone can recomend a 300 to 500 watt solid state amp that will work with my already installed Z-100 tuner?

12  eHam Forums / Elmers / I get this RFI on a few frequencies on: April 22, 2009, 04:48:10 PM
@N30X

It does vary but I get it at different parts of the bands at different times.

I *think* it's coming from my 30 year old RS-20A, could be wrong.

Does anyone have any idea what it is?  And is this what people describe as "harmonics?"
