The owner of the radio shack in my small city told me that radio shack is more concerned about selling phones annd they as dealers often lose money on the phone sales. There store is surviving because there more into stereos/music. There is one in the suburbs of larger city that seems to be doing quite well and has for years but there heavy into communications. I think radio shack the Corporation may fail but there are plenty of the store that will survive because they brought in business relevant to there area.

Well i had a Mark V and it was a very good radio but i was always worried about the cost to replace or repair the power supply that it requires. But the radio worked flawlessly but i just could not develope a love for it and it was a (04) model. I recently aquired a 1000D (03) year as that is when the original owner bought it new from burgharts with the 3 yr first digit. So far i really like this one even better than the Mark V. But i believe either model would probaly satisfy you. The big draw back between the two is the weight being as the 1000D has the internal power supply where as the Mark V has the seperate power supply.

I know where your coming from WB6VHK he also blocked W4LTD Rich Lee right after he blocked me. And Rich had defended Scott just a week earlier. It almost makes one think there is a old Soviet Style Purging going on. It seems any one who has spoke out against Radio Mart on QTH that there time is numbered.

Well it is my opinion that QTH has double standards. I've been blocked from there so no big deal. But here is the latest example of QTH's double standard concerning radio Mart.....
Listing Number: 1006456 Date Ad was Placed: 07/25/12 Name: alexi j buttars Callsign: RA9OJJ Category: RADIOHF Heading: Radio-mart Ad Message:
Radio-mart stole from me filters and an fm board. I try to post in the feedback and they delete this and I am sure they will delete this too. QTH.com is helping radio-mart steal from hams and should be held accountable. Boycott this site and scott ka9fox give him no contest points he is just as guilty of a scammer as radio-mart. If you see this save it it will get deleted as the scammers control qth.com. I am filling a complaint against this site and radio-mart mr martyn allison with you federal trade commission to have both investigate. Thank you qth and radio mart for scamming me and many others. I hope to shut down both sites radio-mart and qth.com. Shame on qth.com for helping crooked radio-mart

Ok let me explain that i am taking no sides on this but Martyn after i had e mailed him explained to me that his IP address is not accepted on E Ham or he would respond to the charges. He gave me the following to repost for him. Martyn will tell you that i and him do not usually see eye to eye and have had our squabbles if you doubt me just enter my name in the search box on QTH. Also i believe i sold this Alex a ICOM 756 PRO a year or so back with absolutely no problems. with all that said and as i told Martyn i would here is his response...
"I sold a perfectly good working IC-7000 to a Russian, he claimed the internal speaker was not good, he wanted $350 off the price or he would make trouble, he also asked I put a low value on the customs form to avoid as much tax, so I said just return it and pointed out our return policy (this is after he had it 3 months and I offered him $100 off the price so he can go get a $10 speaker) So today he writes on eHam a bunch of one sided garbage about how I ripped him off,

Where i live there is no Ham Store or Ham fest or even a radio club. I'm in western Kansas the Ham fest we once had in our area are all long gone. Colby Kansas used to have a well atteneded one but the last time i went over ten years ago it was 90% junk and computers and it is now no longer. There was a couple of small ones that are no longer but the one at Beaver Oklahoma was a really nice one with a well balanced pick of ham gear but was more like a Ham operators get together and very friendly. I agree E bay and the internet has done a lot to kill the Ham fests but i think it has more to do with the aging of the Ham population and in general lack of interest.

I have a very good friend retired from the Postal service and he told me the post office would fix their problems if it was not for government interference in the decision making.

I bought the Grundig 750 and find it works very good. The only draw backs are external antenna connection as it's a bnc. The other is the SSB receive as to me it sounds compressed but is probably ok for those who are not ham's and use SSB regularly. Portability would present no problems and for the price it is difficult to beat for what you get.

A few months ago i bought a item on e bay and after i recieved it i got a e mail from the seller stating Pay Pal an E bay were holding the funds until i gave a positive rating. I liked that as the money was still there if i had been unsatisfied and wanted my money back..
