1  eHam Forums / Good Seller / Buyer Beware / RE: Buyer beware of scammer using KF6RCH on: March 22, 2013, 06:32:14 AM
Wish I knew this before I bought a radio from him.
Here's my story
Beware of a person going by the name of Stephen Brinck, call sign KF6RCH. He's doing business under the name Sanderson Sales.
His QRZ listing shows a San Francisco address but his phone number and Pay Pal info shows a Riverside CA address. Kind of fishy part one.
He posted an ad  for a RCI 2970 N2 on QRZ and I answered it and bought it. I sent him the payment immediately  via Pay Pal . After paying him I did not receive any shipping information until the 4th day and then all it was  was a shipping label that had been generated. .This was on Friday. The status did not change nor did the package show any movement for the next 3 days. On Monday I told the seller if there was no movement by the end of that day I wanted a refund and he agreed. He then stated that he was going to where he took the radio for shipping and find out what was going on. I told him hold off on the refund until after he talked to the UPS store people.
A change of status was posted on the UPS site on Monday but again there it stayed until now.
He again said he'd refund my money ,that was Wednesday the 20th and that was the last I heard from him.
This person is a liar and a thief and I want all to be aware

3  eHam Forums / Elmers / 160 antennas on: February 04, 2010, 09:29:22 AM
I imagine that this has been discussed more times than Carter has pills. I am looking for opinions on what is the best antenna for 160 meters on a piece of property that is not only small but irregularly shaped.

Here's what I have to work with.
The lot is pie shaped, 130ft. at the widest point across the front, 190ft. deep and only 10ft. across the back line.
Half of the lot is level. The other half is a steep hill which is heavily forested. From the back of the house to where the incline starts is 20ft. and the width at the start of the slope is 75ft. Wierd shaped but not a lot of grass to mow! LOL

I can put up anything I want(no covenants)but I'm on a tight budget(who isn't?) and would prefer not to have to erect a tower.I have two 30ft. push up poles on the house already and a ground mounted 10ft. tripod with 10ft. of mast coming out of it with a Gap DX Titan on it right at the edge of the slope.
Any advise would be appreciated.

There are some "bootleggers" here in the Tennessee Valley on 10 meters down in the CW section and up above 29 megs. I hear them daily.

Did you notice that the heads were facing backwards away from the speakers both on the podium and when the reporters were holding them?
