I was looking thru some boxes a week ago and found two containers of anti-oxidant sold by Industrial Communications Engineers. One is 601 and one is 604. They both look the same, anyone know what the difference is. The sheet that came with them just mentions that the 601, which is for copper to copper. I believe ICE is out of business.

Has anyone used the Yamaha CM-500 headset with an ICOM 7410 or 7000? If so was a blocking cap need in the mic in line?
With the K3 you just turned on the bias and connected. Any ideas/help would be appreciated.

Steve,
Thanks for the suggestion. I will try the Yahoo group. I think the problem is with drivers in XP Home, SP3 since it works fine on my Win7 laptop. And I used it with no problem on my old XP laptop with my IC-7000.

eHam Forums / Computers And Software / Signalink USB Problem

I tried connecting my Signalink USB to a ACER netbook running XP. I cannot recieve any audio, but transmit seems to be fine. When I checked the the sound card setup in HRD, it told me that the mixer device needed to be installed. I Googled this error and it found that the the Windows Audio Device not being started caused this error. When I checked the USB Codec shows installed and the WindowsAudio is started and running. I can't adjust the audio input or output level with the Signalink controls, just the windows controls.
When I tried the Signalink USB with my Win7 machine it works fine. I want to use the ACER with my FT-817ND for a QRP portable station.
Any suggestions?

KC8Y,
I set up the radio as a IC-7600 and you have to change the address in the radio to the correct address for the IC-7600. I tried changing the HRD setp to the address in the radio, but that did not work. I then went to the radio connection and had to create my own transmit button. When you try to connect it will not automatically create the button, but I found that I could create my own and it work. With that fixed it works great thru the USB port. If you have any quesitons send me an e-mail direct to my call at arrrl.ent.

I have a new IC-7410 and I am trying to use it with HRD/DM780. I selected the IC-7600 option in HRD and the controls functions work fine. From DM780 I can change frequency, etc, but I cannot get it to transmitt thru HRD. If I hit the xmit button on HRD it transmitts fine. The link between DM780 and HRD does not seem to populate a xmit button. I have turned off my firewall and set Macfee to allow internet access for both program. I am using Win 7 and the Icom usb driver.

Tony,
I am a full time RVer and I have used a varity of antennas. I currently have a 20mtr dipole, a 10mtr dipole, and a 30 ft wire verticle with 4 radials. Not a super antenna setup, but I have worked alot of stations. I have also used a 21ft fiber glass flag pole mounted on the ladder to hold up a 27ft wire with one gound radial. Worked MI for FL with 5 watts on this setup. My strangest was ten feel of pvc mounted on the ladder with the wire run to my toolbox setting on the picnic table. Worked a few stations that way. I also have a 23 ft marine hf ssb antenna and a tuner, but have not used them as of yet. I have talked to several hams using this type of setup, some mounted on the ladder and a few on the ground. My current antennas are #20 gauge wire and RS insulators. I have run acrossed a couple of hams using commerical verticles that they erect on the ladder when the are parked. I have worked a fellow in CA that was using a Buddypole and had a great signal. I would love to have a beam, but don't have the space for it in the RV. If you have any questions drop me a line at my call at ARRL.NET.

Dennis,
I am a fulltime RVer and currently have a 20mtr dipole, a 10mtr dipole, and a wire verticle in a tree near the RV. I usually run 100 watts on RTTY with no effect on any of the systems in the RV. I did have a problem once on 20mtrs where when I transmitted it turned on the front a/c unit. Found that I had a bad coax connection and when it was corrected the problem was solved.
