As far as I know, it will log without internet connection. Automatically filling in the station QTH , name and data like that is another story, although you can purchase the data disks from QRZ.com and then that should work too. A laptop or portable computer would be great for this as the data can be recursively filled in by the program when an internet connection is established.

eHam Forums / RFI / EMI / RE: Ferrite Cores for RFI on CAT5 Cable (UVERSE)

I've found that (if the cable is long enough), wrapping cables around an FT-240-77 toroid will attenuate common-mode RFI much more than a few snap-on chokes. It is probably equivalent to about 30 of the snap-on type. Good luck.
To help me determine how many toroids to buy, what length of cable wraps around the FT-240-77? Hank/ke0cu

Having logged and checked the A's and the K's for a number of years when conditions were good I don't really believe they have much relevance. When conditions were supposed to be good, it wasn't, and when it appeared conditions were going to be lousy, they were good. Best thing really is switch on the rig, if its full of wall to wall signals you are experiencing a miracle !

OK, my OS is Windows XP, using Internet Explorer. When I go to http://www.eham.net/, I always remain logged in. Then, clicking on the word Forums on the left hand bar, I go to the forums, but am logged out! From the forums page, I log back in which sends me back to eHam.net, but clicking on Forums this time I remain logged in. Close IE and repeat the whole process.
