1  eHam Forums / Emergency Communications / Emcomm Antenna on: October 13, 2009, 06:44:40 AM
80M-6M  1500W 25' end feed.

Light weight, easy put up/take down. Mount vertical, horizontal or sloped fashion. No radials.
Most hams in emcomm work do not run more that a few hundred watts but, for field day, restrictive areas and other uses, you can run the power.

3  eHam Forums / Elmers / FT-767-gx / SP 767 Speaker, and filters on: December 05, 2005, 02:26:36 PM
EXT SPKR on the 767 is a 2-contact mini phone jack for connection to the SP-767/SP-102 speakers.

Two inputs with a front button to switch between two radios.  Speakers are not the best and you may wish to use some insulation inside the box.  See other reviews on eham for SP-8.  I added a second speaker in the back and rewired the output to the second speaker for a scanner to save space on the desk.

5  eHam Forums / Elmers / Reset of FT767 on: April 01, 2002, 07:00:16 PM
Do you lose RX audio?
Does it re-set to 7.000.0?
Do you lose memory?
Is display dim slector set on low?
Does it still TX when you lose display?

I have to think about this.
6  eHam Forums / Elmers / FTS-8 Tone Module Alignment For FT-767GX on: December 30, 2001, 05:29:29 PM
The output tone (VR1) on the FTS-8 is adjusted at the factory for the proper deviation.  No aligment is necessary.  I you bring-up other repeaters with PL then, there is other problems.  I am sure you have entered everything the right way.  Always go back and look at the entered tone after you enter from the orange func (T-Set) key twice.  Make sure the PL tone is stored in the trans side A or B.  I am sure you have the (+) for 147.1 and above.  On the West Coast sometimes they do things backward.  If the rig works with other repeaters (PL), then it could be the repeater that is off.
7  eHam Forums / Elmers / HF Nets? on: November 16, 2001, 07:23:15 AM
Many HF nets, most on 75M and 40M.

Here in the East I think at times too many.

On the West Coast try:  ( www.ac6v.com)  Nets-On-The-Air.

11  eHam Forums / Elmers / IC-706MKIIG or FT-100D? on: May 22, 2001, 07:45:08 AM
Ford or Chevy - They both get you there.  FT-100D and ATAS 100 a good choice.

Using FT-100D for about a year with no problems- yet.

13  eHam Forums / Elmers / Which Wattmeter? on: April 11, 2001, 07:40:58 AM
They all work, some more accurate and will take 1500W into a 20W setting with no harm to meter.  Your list of 4, the Daiwa CN-801 is the improved old CN-720 which many hams have due to the large meter for us old folks.  Your choice, Ford, Chev, etc. they all get you there.
Some in style, trouble free with all the bells.
14  eHam Forums / DXing / QSL'ing Outside the US on: March 19, 2001, 10:02:33 AM
Universal Postal Union of the United Nations manages international mail cooperation among the world's many participating countries.  Governing principles include uniformity of postal rates, units of weight and procedures for handling.  In general, if a country receives more mail from a particular country than it sends there, the receiving country may collect the excess cost from the sending country.

In most cases $1.00 will be OK for now,  Some banks in various countries will charge a fee to exchange for local money.  If you are not sure always send $2.00. In Germany the cost for a 1oz letter to USA is $1.80.  Some countries will not accept IRC's. and it my be a crime to have US dollars.

Check various call book data, QRZ, Buckmaster, etc. for instructions.

Most have EMail, send a memo for instructions etc.

Remember some QSL's take a long time and others from such countries like LIBYA only took 2 weeks.  Hard to understand the system.  So far it still works.
