June 2011 information posted on other Drake Repair / Restoration Reflectors.
Drake used the Jewell MS2T meter in the Drake W-4 Watt/SWR Meter, as well as other pieces of equipment (some antenna tuners).
The specific meter used (Jewell MS2T) a Small core type movement, Taut band, 200 uA at 225 ohms
with a Red Knife Edge pointer and RF 0-2000/200 RF WATTS meter scale.

The Jewell Instruments catalog (2011) showed the MS series (Rugged category)
While Jewell can ramp up production for a large order, when I talked to them in 2009 --
the MS2 series appears to be ending production.http://www.jewellinstruments.com/meters-and-avionics/panel-meters/analog-meters-product-list/#Jewell
MS-series product sheet (2013 Jewell product sheet shows - Still Available)http://www.jewellinstruments.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/Jewell-MS-Series.pdf
According to Bob Larson, at Larson Metercraft ---
Jewell (now part of Hoyt Meter in NH) made 4 different versions of their MS2 Series ..
MS2 (OLD LARGE MAGNET pivot and Jewell movement)
MS2TB (OLD LARGE MAGNET Taut band type)
MS2T Small core type movement Taut band -- THIS IS VERSION - DRAKE USED
MS2CM Small core type pivot and Jewell
I restored a broken Drake W-4, SN #10 wattmeter .. that also had a damaged meter movement.
Bob Larson at Larson Metercraft replaced my damaged movement (not cheap).

Jewell catalogs (2013) shows that the MS2T meter, used by Drake, is still available.
Terry, W9TW commented in 2011 that you can sometimes find a MS2T Jewell meter on eBay.
You need to search eBay with key words: Jewell and Jewel.
He found one in 2010 for $15.00.
The only difference was that it will have black pointer. Easy to carefully pop off the clear plastic cover and remove whatever meter scale it has and install your W4 scale in it.
The Jewell MS2T meters are getting real scarce.
Occasionally a search on Honeywell meters will turn up as Jewell made MS2Ts, which were OEM for them.
